Friday, October 18: We can’t guarantee there isn’t going to be any plate smashing during the 53rd annual Greek Funstival hosted by St. Sophia’s Greek Orthodox Church. Don’t miss out on authentic Greek delicacies, live music, folk dancing and a slew of vendors. Saturday, October 19: San Antonio’s own Cutthroat Culinary, an organization of classically trained chefs, will host a six-course Hollywood Horror Dinner. Saturday, October 19: Beer aficionados can get their drink on during the Current’s San Antonio Beer Festival sponsored by Bud Light. Attendees will have a chance to sample from 200 beers including big names and craft favorites. Not into beer? Saturday, October 19: Merge your love of shopping with your passion for good food with these Culinaria events hosted by The Shops at La Cantera. The first, Sip, Savor & Shop, includes a chef demonstration, tasty bites, this year’s art festival and live entertainment. Sunday, October 20: Take a crack at the King of Cheeses as Mary Martini, Central Market cooking school manager host this demonstration on the history, production and uses for Parmigiano-Reggiano. The menu includes a Parmigiano-Reggiano with balsamic vinegar appetizer, parma-style asparagus, homemade pasta carbonara, beef tenderloin stuffed with prosciutto and parm and poached pears with Parmesan cheese and honey. $50, 3-5:30pm, 4821 Broadway, (210) 368-8617, centralmarket.com.

Sunday, October 20: Ruth’s Chris Steak House hosts an Italian wine dinner. Tuesday, October 22: Learn about perfect pairings with tips form sommelier Rajat Parr of Sandhi Winery.
