8 Mardi Gras Shindigs to Hit up This Tuesday

Finally finished cleaning up after your Super Bowl Party? Mardi Gras is upon us and fear not, chéri, San Antonio has you covered.

If you can't wait until Fiesta for the Taste of New Orleans, the San Antonio Zulu Association has heard your belly grumbles and is ready with food! Join them This Tuesday February 9 for a $10 entry fee at the VFW Post 76 (10 10th St,  210-223-4581) where food, fun, and frivolity await.



For a more quiet Fat Tuesday, Painting With A Twist's Northwest location (8910 Bandera Road, 210-444-4176) will offer a two hour-long class for $35 a seat. BYOB and remember: beads optional, celebratory spirit required.

The Ice Lounge (5545 NW Loop 410, Suite 16, 210-200-8706) collaborates with 98.5 this Fat Tuesday for $2 domestics and wells and $3 everything else. No cover.

In case you were craving authentic Louisiana-style food, Ma Harper's Creole Kitchen (1816 N. New Braunfels Ave., 210-226-2200) will be open for Mardi Gras to satiate your needs.

The Fat Tuesday Pub Run kicks off at Pat O'Brien's (121 Alamo Plaza, 210-220-1076) downtown on the River Walk. The event begins at 7 p.m. and registration is free. Other bars include Moses Roses, Agave Bar, Drink Texas, and On the Rocks.

Luke (125 E. Houston St., 210-227-5853) will host their annual Mardi Gras shindig from 5-9 p.m. with delicious delights ranging from hurricanes, hand grenades, Abita beer, crawfish, fried chicken and hot jazz (on a cool evening).

Dress for the occasion at Drink Texas (200 Navarro St., 210-224-1031), and receive your party beads upon entry. Enjoy $4 hurricanes and $3 SoCo shots all day, 


Finally, Paper Tiger (2410 N. St. Mary's St.) will host its all-you-can-eat bash starting at 4 p.m. with food prepared by Pieter Sypesteyn and co. out of Where Y'at Food Truck. The night includes drink specials and more. Tickets are $20.
