This is Texas and in Texas we drink beer in large amounts. This Sunday, September 28 is National Drink a Beer Day and we've got a few places you can go to celebrate. Get your pint ready and let's drink some beer.

Big Hops Growler Station (8313 Broadway) is a kid-friendly joint that offers a sizable list of beers for you to tap into. Wanna know what we really love here? You can get your beer to-go. Bonus: They have two other locations and a third on the way.

Blue Star Brewing Company (1414 S Alamo) has been making delicious craft beer since 1996. You should drop by if you like Texas beer and a fun atmosphere that's perfect for a relaxing evening.

Do you want beer choices that are out of this world? The Flying Saucer Draught Emporium (11255 Huebner) will take you on a ride with their seemingly endless wall of options. Supporting this business does not help fund extraterrestrial activity.

Freetail Brewing Company (4035 N Loop 1604 W Ste 105) is a local brewery that's just as cool as their namesake. The folks at Freetail are known for brewing beer with subtle twists on classics and even some crazy concoctions. Fly in and get a taste of one of their killer creations.

The Friendly Spot (943 S Alamo) wants to be your friend. They want to prove it to you with their 250 bottled brews and another 76 brews on draft. If that isn't the kind of friend you're looking for then I just assume you're a drifter passing through town that doesn't need any friends.

Waxy O’Connors Irish Pub & Eatery (234 Riverwalk) brings brews straight from the Emerald Isle to a pint in your hand. Try one of the ten imported beers they have on draft and jam out to some of their live music. Did we mention they have Irish dancers? That's honestly reason enough to go.

The Granary 'Cue & Brew (602 Avenue A) takes their brews seriously and I know that because it's in their name. If you're having trouble convincing your friends to go get a beer (although, I don't understand why you'd have that problem.) you can sucker them in with The Granary's delicious 'cue and get them to stay for a brew.

Hills & Dales Icehouse (15403 White Fawn) is a good old-fashioned bar that just wants to serve you some beer and have a good time. Hills & Dales is like that cool uncle that always offers you a beer the second you go over to his house. Cruise over, kick back, and have a cold one.

Don't be fooled by Filling Station Tap Room's teensy interiors. They have chingos of taps and the prices are beyond reasonable. Like the sign says, they don't serve Bud, Miller or Coors so don't ask and reach for a bitter beer instead.
