    In commemoration of the 70th anniversary of the Hernandez v. Texas (1954) landmark Supreme Court decision, MACRI and MonteVideo present a reception and screening of the documentary film A Class Apart. Hernandez v. Texas (1954) extended equal protection under the 14th Amendment of the Constitution to Mexican Americans, setting an important precedent for future Mexican American civil rights cases. Join in on Friday, May 3, 2024, at Herrera Plaza (1800 W. Commerce St., SATX 78207). The reception begins at 7 pm, and the film starts at 8 pm. Light refreshments will be served.
