The Austin Belly Dance Convention is an annual 3-day event that has been bringing the Middle Eastern dance and Belly Dance community together since its inception. Cabaret, folklore, and tribal dances are all represented by our collection of hand-picked performers and instructors from across the globe. The musical follows Hedwig Robinson, a transgender East German singer of a fictional rock and roll band. Hedwig and the Angry Inch touches on themes such as love and loss, overcoming personal tragedy, the power dynamics inherent in human relationships, mental illness and issues of gender and identity.
