    UTSA School of Music will welcome Grammy-winning classical guitar virtuoso David Russell to the UTSA Recital Hall April 20th at 7:30 PM for a concert featuring his 2024 USA program. The pieces on his program are from well-known Spanish composers like J. Broca’s Pensamiento Espanol, Bendetto Marcello’s Sonata, and F. Moreno Torroba’s Castillos de España. Russell will also present a classical guitar arrangement of J.S. Bach’s Flute Sonata in E minor, BWV 1034.     The group exhibition Water Ways brings together works that make direct reference to water in addition to those that refer symbolically to it. Here, artists picture swimmers, capture moonlit lakes, re-create a shimmering pool, map unknown watercourses, or depict mythic tales associated with oceans or rivers. These works are balanced by others that allude to or characterize water like bridges, boats, borders, depth, fluidity, motion, purification, reflection, source, and its alterable state.     Monday, April 15, 2024 is the kickoff of the MEGA CORAZÓN celebration, an online spoken word marathon that is part of San Antonio’s National Poetry Month participation. This festival presents San Antonio’s poetic tradition that combines street, classical, and slam performance styles in a production that is improvisational, at times painful, and choreographed for a highly visual impact.
