To keep the rivers of Texas Hill Country River Region pristine, groups of travelers with 6+ people can sign up to clean a section of the Frio, Sabinal and Nueces Rivers. Volunteers will be awarded $10/person, per hour of approved scheduled cleanup, which will be donated to a charity of their choice. Groups must fill out an application in advance and sign a waiver. The town of Comfort, Texas hosts an All-American Independence Day celebration that’s full of flag-waving family fun, floats, and delicious barbecue on Thursday, July 4th, 2019. Activities include a flyover of vintage World War II aircraft and the annual July 4th parade at 10am in the Historic District. Beginning at 11am, activities move to Comfort Park with a Texas-style barbecue dinner cooked on site by K-Bubz Smoke Shack. There will be music, vendors and games for all ages.
