  • 20nine Restaurant & Wine Bar

    255 E. Basse Rd. Ste. 940 San Antonio

    This urban wine inspired restaurant is located in the heart of San Antonio just 5 miles north of the River walk, and minutes south of the airport. Highway 29 that runs through Napa Valley inspired the restaurant’s name. The oversized patio with water fountain creates the perfect atmosphere to enjoy wine and appetizers or a four-course dinner. The bar and lounge area offers a trendy, stylish, urban setting for serious wine drinkers to sit back and enjoy a “Road Trip”. All road trips arrive with “wine itineraries” (tasting notes) for the “traveler” to refer to as they are sipping each glass. We specialize in wine country cuisine; Executive Chef Stefan Bowers has created an eclectic menu & makes seasonal changes to showcase fresh fruits, vegetables, and meats.;

  • Burger Boy

    2323 N. St. Mary's San Antonio

    (210) 735-1955

    All right, so it isn't the most glamorous place to chow down. But inside the retro-façade, the men inside Burger Boy churn out the damn tastiest burgers in San Antonio. They aren't particularly thick, or enormously big, but there is a world of flavor in each mouthful: a potent beefiness that the likes of McDonald's have made us all forget. Complementing the old-fashioned burger are french fries that look like they came out of your childhood cafeteria, but these Ore-Ida knockoffs are crunchy, salty, and guiltily addictive. - Laura Fries

    2524 N. Main San Antonio

    After serving home-cooked Italian food at their Nacadoches location for 30 years, Gay Capparelli closed the doors when the building was condemned. But the very next day, Capparelli's on Broadway opened and is still run by Gay's father. She is now the sole owner of Capparelli's on Main (which opened May 1, 2001), and she thought it appropriate to ask some of her most faith-ful patrons to add their art to the new establishment. Gay Capparelli's gracious attitude and the restaurant's fine food encourage return visits. The highly affordable lunch specials are perfect not only for the penny pincher but also the late luncher. - Xelena Gonzalez
