If you are a Japanese band that calls itself Salsa, it is only right that you bring your act to San Antonio, a place where salsa is practically its own spirituality, as often as you can. The deliciously named trio brings its punk/new-wave-tinged brand of indie rock to SA this week for the second time in the past few years.
Fellow Japanese rock outfit Tricot, offering up its angular and massive take on mathy pop-rock, will join Salsa on this bill. Rounding out the well-curated lineup are locals Verisimilitude and Booty Feet, which play mind-melting instrumental psych-rock (with elements of math-rock technicality) and groove-heavy indie pop-rock, respectively.
$10-$15, Thu Jun 28, 8pm, Limelight, 2718 N. St. Mary’s St., ticketfly.com.
