Do you like your spaghetti slightly sweet? Do you like it served with a hamburger, next to some fried chicken? Do you have opinions about pineapple as a topping?
If so, the popular Filipino fast-food chain Jollibee is planning their second Texas location in San Antonio. The Express-News reports that it will open in June near 410 and Bandera. Jollibee has one other Texas location in Houston.
Jollibee is the rare home-grown chain to hold its home territory against the colonial incursion of McDonalds. In the Philippines, their market share is larger than that of the golden arched menace.
The spaghetti sauce is roughly as red as the company's logo, and it includes hot dogs. For something closer to traditional Filipino food, there is a Fiesta Noodle dish that involves shrimp, garlic, rice noodles and hard boiled eggs. Halo Halo, a faddish dessert lately in the USA, is on the menu.
And, yes, a hamburger accessorized with pineapple.
