Industrial/nu-metal act Static-X is gearing up for a 20th anniversary celebration of their 1999 debut Wisconsin Death Trip.

The festivities will come in the form of a memorial tribute to the late vocalist Wayne Static and a tour, kicking off in Arizona June 18 and finishing in Las Vegas on July 27. Lucky us, the tour includes a stop in San Antonio for a show at the Aztec Theatre on Sunday, June 23, featuring co-headliners and metal stalwarts DevilDriver and Dope.

"Our intention is to pay ultimate respect to Wayne and to celebrate the music that has been in all of our hearts for more than 20 years," said bassist Tony Campos in a recent press release. "It's all about channeling the vibe from 1999 to the best of our ability and playing those classic Static-X songs live and loud."

"Rehearsals have been awesome," added guitarist Koichi Fukuda. "The music and the vocals are sounding really great! I feel like Wayne would be proud."

While it hasn't been revealed who will assume the role of vocals on this tour, the band thinks that announcing who will take over for vocals for the tour would ultimately detract from the former frontman’s legacy.

"We understand that people are naturally going to want to know more about who is singing," says drummer Ken Jay. "We have discussed this at great length and we came to the conclusion that at this time, it would be inappropriate for us to put the focus on anyone other than Wayne, Tony, Koichi and myself. It feels like the best way for us to celebrate Wayne's legacy, along with the 20th anniversary of Wisconsin Death Trip, with all of our fans."

Tickets go on sale Friday, January 25 at 10 a.m. Pre-sale is Wednesday, January 23 from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. (password: CELEBRATE).
