Thursday, Aug. 8: The mother of all PBS cooking shows would have turned 101 this Aug. 15; celebrate classic French cuisine a la Julia with the staff at Sur La Table. Five percent of the proceeds will go to Wholesome Wave, a national nonprofit that provides community access to fresh, local produce. Saturday, Aug. 10: Support local farms! And eat a lot of food. On Saturday, August 10, Peeler Farms and the Chef Cooperative is serving an eight-course meal at the Emily Morgan Hotel to support local food suppliers. Tuesday, Aug. 13: It’s Hatch Chile season! Cookbook author, Elise Pierce, will show you how to create Hatch-filled recipes with a French twist at the Central Market Cooking School. Copies of “Cowgirl Chef: Texas Cooking with a French Accent” will be available for sale. Wednesday, Aug. 14: Stop being overwhelmed in the wine aisle.
