Metric at The Pearl Stable

Metric at The Pearl Stable
Brantley Gutierrez

Metric is a great band not just because of how they sound, but how they think. The Canadian band has been racking up their country’s Juno Awards for the past decade. Synthetica, their latest, and arguably their best, album, is an imaginative alt-rock trip full of hooks, groove, and the band’s gentle but biting analysis of what’s real and what’s bullshit in modern life. This rare SA appearance is part of Jack Daniel’s “Live at the Landmark” free series, but registration is closed. But don’t despair: the Current has one more pair of tickets to give away. Just write in the comments section of this story and convince us: why should we give give you the tickets? You have time to write your answer no later than 5 p.m. Friday, April 26. The most convincing and/or wittiest argument wins and can pick up the tickets at the Current's office (915 Dallas) during business hours Monday, April 29 (day of the show). You must be 21 or older, not an employee at the Current (or related to any of us), or someone who gets free tickets on a regular basis (promoter, blogger, journalist, label exec, etc.). With Bad Books. Free, 8pm, Pearl Stable, 307 Pearl Pkwy, jdliveatthelandmark.com.
