Nicely nutshelled by the Dallas Observer’s music blog DC9 at Night, “Ryan Cabrera is a dude who was born in the Dallas area who used to date Ashlee Simpson and got signed to her father Joe Simpson’s management company and made something of a blip on the national pop culture radar in 2004, when his song “On The Way Down” started blowing up Total Request Live...” Cabrera’s breakup with Simpson provided fodder for his debut album Take It All Away (produced by Goo Goo Dolls frontman John Rzeznik) and his romance and breakup with actress/model Audrina Patridge landed him on the final season of the “reality” show The Hills.
