5 Local Eggs Benedict Dishes for National Eggs Benedict Day

Today is National Eggs Benedict Day so for all you eggs bennie lovers, we have five local dishes to eat today or at brunch this weekend. The Monterey, Madhatters Tea House and Cafe and Candlelight Cafe all serve the delicious egg dish their own way making it impossible to chose just one favorite place. Did we miss your favorite? Tell us in the comments below.

1. Magnolia Pancake Haus (multiple locations)

Easily shareable. But that's just an option. (Courtesy)

Magnolia is known for their pancakes but the eggs benedict dish here is just as delicious. Bennies come with a crab cake in the form of the crab cake Louies benedict or Texan style with pulled pork and haus made BBQ sauce.

2. Little Gretel (518 River)

Little Gretel's own take. (Courtesy)

Eggs benedict is served on Little Gretel's breakfast and Sunday brunch menu but with French toast, waffles and buttermilk pancakes, it can be difficult to decide between sweet or savory. Gretel's benedict is worth a tasting with their German sausage adding something new.

3. Tost (14415 Blanco)

Tost to this. (Courtesy)

Tost serves three different eggs benedict dishes including the tomato and spinach pictured above, a classic with pancetta and arugula and a crab cake benedict.

4. Cappy's (5011 Broadway)

Bennies are served. (Courtesy)

Weekend brunch at Cappy's features features different specials weekly, but eggs benedict is a classic go-to for that hangover.

5. Drew's American Grill (18740 Stone Oak)

The classic. (Courtesy)

Drew's serves it simple. Canadian bacon, perfectly poached eggs, delectable hollandaise and a toasted english muffin is all you need for a good brunch entree.
