Here's the latest in summer swigs: Austin Eastciders has announced their first cider, Eastciders Original, to be sold in cans at select H-E-B stores throughout Texas beginning in late April. Gold Top cider, which has been available on tap will be sold in glass bottles at select H-E-B and grocery stores.
Institute of Texan Cultures (801 E Cesar E. Chavez) is ‘cooking up culture’ with BBQ and craft beer on May 2 from 6 to 8 p.m. Pure Texan BBQ is catering the event and craft beer samples from Alamo Beer and The Barley Blacksmith will be providing some Texan grub and gulps. San Antonio Cerveceros will also be in attendance offering up info on home brewing.
The Granary ‘Cue and Brew is hosting a Ranger Creek beer dinner on Thursday, May 15 at 7 p.m. The four course dinner will include Ranger Creek Beers as ingredients and pairings. Only 30 seats are available for the $55 dinner. Email [email protected] with your name, phone number and number of reserved seats. If you can't wait for May to wet your whistle, The Granary just added new beers to their menu. The new beers are international and chosen just for the stellar menu.
It’s homebrew happy hour at Branchline Brewing Co. (3633 Metro). Branchline is hosting a Banas Brothers Brewing Tap Takeover on Thursday, May 22 at 6 p.m. A $10 glass gets you 3 samples of brews including four from Banas Brothers Brewing Co. and the usual offerings from Branchline. The event is kid and pet friendly but seating is limited so lawn chairs are encouraged. One food truck will also be serving some grub to go with those brews.
Here’s something to be thankful for. Flat Creek Estate Winery and Vineyard (24912 Singleton) is having a VinoPalooza Wine Fest on Friday, July 4 at 4 p.m. The festival will include Texas wine, food and live music. Ticket packages are $5-$60.
