Delay on Lowe's hearing

City Council has granted a four-week continuance on what has become known as the "Lowe's Case," and won't decide on the zoning case until Thursday, October 6. Councilman Chip Haass asked for the continuance to allow additional public input. The company, NEC BUL 1604, Ltd. is requesting a zoning change for its property at the northeast corner of the Bulverde Road and Loop 1604 intersection, which is on the Recharge Zone. If approved, the change would allow development of the home-improvement store. SAWS and the Zoning Commission have recommended approval, but opponents, including Aquifer Guardians In Urban Areas are concerned about the chemicals Lowe's stores onsite.
