As an enticing appetizer for the Realm of Illusion exhibit, the McNay Art Museum presents Vatel, the tale of a famous French chef (reportedly the distant ancestor of Bistro Vatel’s Damien Watel) who woos Louis XIV, and his favorite attendant. Juarez: Stages of Fear

This 98-minute independent feature film, produced in El Paso, captures the fear and brutality of the Juarez murders, in which almost 400 women have been killed over the past1 2 years. Ruben Blades, Little Joe, and other Latin music stars appear in a video for the original song “De Mariposa a Cruz,” at film’s end.
