    WHAT: Ale Fest 2006 celebrating The Current’s 20th year as San Antonio’s alternative weekly paper. 

    WHEN: Saturday, October 14th, 2006; 1 p.m. – 6 p.m. 

    WHERE: HemisFair Park Arch Plaza (off S. Alamo at Nueva) 

    HOW MUCH? $16 advance, $20 at the door

You know what this town needs? An Ale Fest. Because we love beer! Do we really need another reason? Well, San Antonio, wait no more - The San Antonio Current, Budweiser, and the Alamo Drafthouse have combined forces to bring you the first annual Ale Fest 2006. Spend an afternoon sampling 50 different beers from local to a full range of premium brews. Ale Fest 2006 will be complete with salty fair foods for purchase from Alamo Drafthouse and Mixx-It Productions will spin tunes and some polka for that Oktoberfest feel. The event will take place at HemisFair Park Arch Plaza (off S. Alamo at Nueva).

Tickets are only $16 advance, $20 at the door. Advance tickets will be available for purchase at all San Antonio HEB stores including Leon Springs starting Wednesday, September 20, 2006. You must be 21 to enter. Rain or Shine. No seating available.

Escape to the silver screen with your free alternative weekly paper as we celebrate 20 years of keepin’ it real in San Antonio with four free movie nights. Guests can pick their flick, then sit back and relax as a rotating program of vintage cartoons and shorts play before the film. The Drafthouse waitstaff is available to serve a full menu of dinner and drinks (for purchase) to your seat while you watch the movie. Plus win free stuff, from movie swag to gift certificates to limited edition 20th anniversary San Antonio Current paraphernalia.
