CRITICAL Darling

Oops, he did it again. David O. Russell — of the repeatedly-calling-Lily-Tomlin-a-cunt-on-the-set-of-I Heart Huckabees O. Russells — has apparently gotten his current operation, Nailed, shut down according to Nikke Finke and chud.com.

As if the news of Russell and actor James Caan parting ways after quarrelling (over the best way to choke on a cookie) hadn’t been enough, it seems the Screen Actors Guild has effectively put a stop to Nailed’s filming, at least for the moment, due to “insufficient funds.”

Only halfway through principal photography, it would be a shame to see Nailed, a political comedy derived from Kristin Gore’s novel Sammy’s Hill, get screwed because its primary financier, Capitol Films, is supposedly having money troubles (which Chud attributes to tangoing with anyone under The Curse of Picking a Fight with George Clooney). Conceivably, the state of South Carolina — where Nailed is shooting — could withdraw its incentive. (Who knew SC even had an incentive? I looked: It’s not bad.)

In addition to Jake Gyllenhaal and Jessica Biel, Nailed’s cast touts Catherine Keener, James Brolin, Tracy Morgan, and James Marsden. On May 7, The Hollywood Reporter announced Kirstie Alley had signed on to play Biel’s aunt. Hey, that’s just one letter away from c—
