How are we all going to die?

Solar San Antonio (solarsanantonio.org), not surprisingly, posits the whole global-warming thing as humanity’s downfall, and now they’ve got the help of Leonardo DiCaprio, who learned a thing or two about sinking ships from his part in the final season of Growing Pains. SSA will screen the Leo-produced eco-crisis doc The 11th Hour 7:30 p.m. Thursday, July 16, at Alamo Drafthouse Westlakes (drafthouse.com/westlakes). The film, also narrated by DiCaprio, features interviews with the likes of Mikhail Gorbachev, Stephen Hawking, and CIA head R. James Woolsey explaining how we’re going to die and why it’s our own damn fault. Tickets are $5 for SSA members, students, and seniors, $8 for everyone else.

If you’d like a more awesome and more accurate (according to Glenn Beck, anyway) depiction of our impending doom, San Antonio filmmaker Bryan Ortiz’s Doctor S Battles The Sex Crazed Reefer Zombies: The Movie promises death by, well, you get the idea. Doctor S, a selection in the recent San Antonio film festival, is set to spread the gospel of the nympho pothead undead apocalypse with its West Coast premiereSaturday, July 18, at the Brainwash Drive-in Bike-in Walk-in Movie Festival in Oakland, California.
