The ugly and totally uncool truth is that Devin the Dude’s most recent album, 2008’s Landing Gear, was pretty underwhelming. But, in all fairness, if you were a Houston hip-hop fixture since the early ‘90s, responsible for a steady stream of lesser-known classics from your 1994 debut with the Odd Squad to 2007’s Waitin’ to Inhale, you might occasionally run out of good weed puns and dick jokes, too. But don’t let that convince you to skip Sunday’s show. Not only does the Dude have more than a decade’s worth of quality material to draw from, he’ll be joined by the equally venerable Jean Grae, and, most importantly of all, the last couple of months have brought some pretty stellar hip-hop shows to SA, but the streak will end if we stop buying tickets. Don’t eff this up, you guys. $18.50-$23. 9pm Sun, Apr 26. Club Rio, 13307-A San Pedro, (210) 403-2582, club-rio.net.
