From 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday, June 14, the eccentric culture curators Tex Pop open their exhibit on Casbeers at the Church, the late, great music venue on South Alamo. Operated by the late husband and wife pair of Steve Silbas and Barbara Wolfe, Casbeers ran until 2011, championing the blues and Americana scenes of South Texas (though the grand building on South Alamo has been idle since 2011, you can expect Austin hotdog house Frank to take over in due time).
To help inaugurate the exhibit, Casbeers favorites True Stories (2 p.m.), Miss Neesie & the Ear Food Orchestra (3 p.m.) and Michael Martin & the Infidels (4 p.m.) will play at Tex Pop, located at 1017 E. Mulberry. The exhibit itself will feature photos from Tim Lapping and Monte Adams, posters and memorabilia courtesy of guest curator David Rodriguez. A $10 donation is requested.
