Folc & Mixtli Team Up For A Sneak Peek At Alumina

Talk about throwback Thursday. It wasn't that long ago that Luis Colon, Diego Galicia and Rico Torres would team up with fellow cooks around town in hosting elaborate seated dinners with the Texas Cooks Co-Op. These days, Colon owns Folc and Park Social off Olmos Drive, while Galicia and Torres are bringing modern interior Mexican to life inside their train car concept, Mixtli, and making mezcal lovers out of savvy San Antonians at Mezcalería Mixtli, both at The Yard on McCullough.

The trio will team up once more, this time at Mezcaleria Mixtli (5313 McCullough Ave.), to host a collaborative dinner on August 31 that will showcase the upcoming tastes at Alumina, Colon's fine dining concept housed between Folc and Park Social.

The 12-course affair starts at 7 p.m. with cocktails, followed by dinner and pairings. Tickets, $120, can be purchased at restaurantmixtli.com. Tickets are limited to 20 attendees.
