A protest at an Arabic immersion school in Houston sets a high bar for xenophobic Americans looking for a new low.

The Houston Chronicle reports that red-, white- and blue-clad patriots waved Israeli and American flags outside of the Houston Independent School District's new Arabic Immersion Magnet School, which is attended by more than 100 kindergarten and pre-kindergarten students.

While most of the kiddos were already in classes, where they'll split their days learning in English and Arabic — bilingualism is a powerful tool in a world that's more connected than ever — nearly 30 adults took to the street outside of the school.

"Everything I ever cared to know about Islam was taught to me by Muslims on 9- 11-2001," one sign said, according to the Houston Chronicle.

Sigh.
