Yes, we. Apparently, we'll all get a crack at naming the new soccer team in San Antonio.

Now that the City and County have both approved a deal to purchase Toyota Field from philanthropist and developer Gordon Hartman, Spurs Sports and Entertainment will move forward with its plan to bring a Major League Soccer team to San Antonio.

Part of that plan is to field a minor league team in the third-tier United Soccer League. The league is growing rapidly; it recently announced that five new franchises will join the league in 2016, not including the San Antonio club. That includes Rio Grande Valley FC, nicknamed the Toros, which will play in Edinburg.

While speaking with the City Council, Bobby Perez, the vice president general counsel and corporate relations, said that naming the team "will be open up to the community." So it's best we start brainstorming now.

The most unscientific of polls around the Current office yielded these ideas for the club:

-San Antonio Coyotes

-San Antonio Prickly Pears

-San Antonio Musketballs

-Soccer Spurs

-The Traffic Jam

-San Antonio Stray Dogs

-Tim Duncan FC

-San Antonio Soldiers

-SC Tacos

-FC Annexation

-San Antonio Sprawl

-Los Chupacabras

-San Antonio Vaqueros

-San Antonio H-E-Buddies

And so on and so forth. Clearly, we've either given this too much or too little thought. What are your suggestions? Let us know in the comments.
