Coming Soon to San Antonio: Vending Machines That Dispense Cars

File this one under things you had no idea there was even a demand for: Car-vending machines.

According to Virtual Business Builders, a trade website for the construction industry an online car-sales service called Carvana plans to build its next car-vending structure (which is exactly what it sounds like) in San Antonio, near the interchange of Interstate 10 and Loop 1604. The company sells its vehicles online, then either delivers them to customers' doors or allows them to pick up their new rides at a handful of vending-machine locations around the country. See below.

Carvana was already serving San Antonio, via its Austin location, delivering cars to anyone within a 100-mile radius of the city. The only thing missing was the ability to buy your car as if it were a bag of chips. But thanks (we think) to technology and City Council, which approved a request this week to rezone the property where Carvana wants to put its vending machine, it'll be here soon.
