2016 marks the 100th year of outdoor film screenings. In celebration, local outdoor film buffs Slab Cinema will be joining together with La Villita to provide San Antonio with the World Street Cinema Festival. The annual film fest has been through 60 European cities and will make its first American stop this year. This is also an excellent opportunity for local filmmakers to have their short films selected to premiere at the fest and potentially seen by a global audience!

The first screening will take place May 24 at the Arneson River Theater and will include 10 short films (5-20 minutes each) directed by SA filmmakers. The audience then decides their favorite submission to be included with 9 other winners from different cities in the second screening which will be held at the Arneson on June 28.

Entries must be submitted by May 1, 2016. Below is the list of requirements for the submissions.

- Film must be in high resolution
- A maximum of 20 minutes
- Less than a year old
- Must include on-screen English subtitles, even if the film is in English
- Submit to streetcinema.org/filmmakers
