Not satisfied with being just another rock band from Austin playing the same venues over and over, Delicate Boys are, in their own words, also “Available for birthdays, and [they] will bring the clown”.
It’s uncertain if any party planners have taken them up on the offer. But as advertised, the Boys do know a thing or two about how to stoke a party and keep it going (clown or no clown) with a high energy blend of garage, punk, and stage shenanigans.
“We always have the most fun when we can convince the audience that the wheels are coming off,” the band said via email. “We also love to test how far we can push things with synth noise or inane babble and still have people vibing out and grinning. Irreverence is the constant theme and if you can ride with us, consider us your devoted pranksters.”
To date, they have a lot more songs than they've recorded. The band only has a two track digital demo available for listening as a free download via their Bandcamp page. Recorded in one of their band member’s bedrooms, things kick off with "Change Horses," a roughly four-and-a-half minute track that features a jangly tambourine and culminates in a fuzzed-out solo. "Meltin' In the Moonlight"— clocking in at four minutes and twenty seconds, ironically— shifts to reverb heavy-vocals and punchy guitar licks that propel the song forward.
It’s a great start for the young band.
