Historic New Braunfels craft-cocktail bar Sidecar launches new, spring-worthy menu

New Braunfels' historic basement bar, Sidecar, this week launched a new craft-cocktail menu awash in spring ingredients.

The new drink offerings plays on flavors that compliment the warmer weather, among them sweet tea, elderflower and lemon, providing what the bar is calling “notes of summer.”

Highlights include the El Cosmico cocktail, which features a blend of reposado tequila, mezcal, chartreuse and passionfruit. Also new is the El Alma, which consists of uruapan, mint, blackberry, lime and soda. Uruapan is a spirit derived from sugarcane, similar to rum or cachaça.

Sidecar is located in the 1890s-era Prince Solms Inn. It's open Tuesday through Thursday, 4-10 p.m. and Friday and Saturday, 4 p.m.- midnight.

While reservations aren't required, the bar strongly encourages imbibers make them via its website.
