BOOZY POPS: Now That We Have Your Attention, Paleteria San Antonio Is Turning 1

You know what's better than a paleta? Paletas filled with booze. To celebrate being open for an entire year as Hemisfair's Yanaguana Garden's first food tenant, Paletería San Antonio will host a cool celebration on Saturday from noon to 2 p.m. with a DJ, BOGO (buy one, get one) paletas and Paletería San Antonio T-shirts for sale.

Buying the tees will include a freebie agua fresca (available in lime, watermelon and pineapple) and a boozy paleta (lime with tequila and chamoy, vodka and orange screwdrivers, or pineapple coconut rum). Aguas frescas will be available for $3 each.

The shop was opened last June by husband-and-wife team Joey and Cecy Rodriguez. To date, Paletería San Antonio has sold an estimated 60,000 paletas inside the renovated Pereida House. They offer 70 flavors including passion fruit, mangonada, and tamarindo along with creamy varieties including Gansito, Oreo and strawberry and cream.
