Crispy Taco Lay's Score San Antonio Resident Million Dollar Prize


San Antonio's own Ellen Sarem is this year's Lay's "Do us a Flavor" contest winner.

The $1 million prize was awarded to Sarem for pitching a Crispy Taco flavor to the chip maker. Previous winners include a Cheesy Garlic Bread, Cooked Wasabi Ginger, and Southern Biscuits and Gravy. Sarem pitched the Crispy Taco idea because she's been cooking crispy tacos for her now-fiancé for several years.

The chips were put on the market this summer and Lay's fans were encouraged to vote for their favorite between Sarem's Crispy Taco, Palm City, Florida resident Lindsay Hoffman's Lay's Kettle Cooked Everything Bagel and Gregory Pope from Charlotte, N.C., who submitted Lay's Wavy Fried Green Tomato.
