A historic Monte Vista home for sale has one of the coolest kitchens and bars in San Antonio

For all their appeal, hundred-year-old homes seldom have the kind of big, open kitchens today's home cooks are used to, but this 1921 Monte Vista bungalow's interior facelift includes a swanky setup that seems tailored for entertaining.

While the goldenrod paint job and Spanish-style exterior details of the $525,000 property don't exactly hint at the modern upgrades inside, one look at the open and airy floor plan and it's clear someone wanted the kitchen to have a starring role.

A massive island-slash-breakfast bar topped with sparkly engineered stone is the centerpiece of the cooking area, while sleek white cabinets, stylish herringbone tile and stainless steel appliances give it a modern that's nearly 180 degrees from the home's facade.

Dialing up the swankiness, a supersized wet bar serves as a focal point in the living area. Marble counters and a backsplash of diamond-shaped tile give it a kick of style, while the glass-fronted cabinets seem tailor-made for a home mixologist to show off their collection of fancy booze.

This home is listed by Gina Candelario with Kuper Sotheby's International Realty.
