Plenty of folks would love to scoop up a sweet historical property in the Dignowity Hill district. But how many get the bragging rights of living in a home built by the guy from whom the hot neighborhood got its name?

Turns out the home that physician and Czech immigrant Dr. Anthony M. Dignowity started work on in 1874 is now on the market for $765,000. He constructed the 2,500-square-foot, two-bedroom residence for his son Henry, who moved his family in around 1888.

Doc Dignowity's original family home stood in the space now occupied by Dignowity Park, which the house now up for sale overlooks.

While the history of the place is plenty cool on its own, it's also been meticulously restored, including a fancy entryway that weaves together both wood and marble flooring. The sweeping front porch was rebuilt to keep in line with 1880s chic. And while there may be no basement at the Alamo, there's a cellar under the Dignowity home's kitchen.

Let's take a look.

This home is listed by John Michael Little with Keller Williams Legacy.
