A lovingly restored home is for sale in San Antonio's first West Side neighborhood, Prospect Hill

Houses don't change hands often in San Antonio's Prospect Hill area, the first western residential growth from downtown. Originally a German enclave, it later evolved into a Mexican American neighborhood, and families frequently pass the homes down to relatives.

Which makes it all the more noteworthy that this lovingly restored 100 year-old-property is now on the market for $329,900. The home, renovated by its current seller in 2007, has only had two prior owners.

Laura Martinez and her husband led the restoration of the four bedroom, two-bath home over the course of a year, giving it an elegantly curved front porch suited to its 1920 vintage. "We just kind of guessed at everything, since we'd never seen pictures of the original house at that point," she said.

Guesswork or no, the creativity and care poured into the project clearly show through.
