A Very Sordid Wedding

Queer as Folk writer Del Shores once again brings together the zany characters of the conservative, Southern Baptist town of Winters, Texas. A sequel to Shores’ Sordid Lives (a 1996 play later adapted as a film and Logo TV series billed as “a black comedy about white trash”), A Very Sordid Wedding is set weeks after the Supreme Court’s marriage equality ruling and features an ensemble cast that includes Whoopi Goldberg, Caroline Rhea and Leslie Jordan. The Playhouse hosts the film’s Texas premiere, to be followed by a Q&A with Shores and producer Emerson Collins.
