CANCELED. For many, it’s a dream to meet a literary idol. Unfortunately for fans of British author C.S. Lewis, he died some five decades ago. Insert David Payne, who stars as the famous literary luminary in the one-man performance An Evening with C.S. Lewis. While performing a live version of Lewis’ memoir A Grief Observed, Payne was peppered with enough audience questions about the Chronicles of Narnia author that he decided Lewis himself should answer the queries. So, An Evening with C.S. Lewis was born. Payne dons Lewis’ mantle and discusses many facets of his life, including his relationship with Lord of the Rings author J.R.R. Tolkien, how he almost quit writing his Narnia tales and how he found Christianity. Unless fans prefer conducting a séance, this may be their best option to hear from the man himself.
