Are Those UTSA Students Still Going Out After A Mom Played Wingman at H-E-B?

A week after a UTSA mom chatted up a group of young women about her son in hopes of finding him a girlfriend, her son and one of those women look ready to go on a second date.

The big question is where they'll end up.

If you're not up to date with the story, here's the deal. Last Monday, UTSA student Charisma Valdez posted a now-viral tweet about a woman who kept talking about her son with the intention of finding him a girlfriend.

If your name is Cody, you’re 6’4, you go to UTSA, live at the Outpost, a sophomore, AND majoring in Global Affairs. Your mom truly is your wingman. She just showed my roommates and I your picture at HEB trying to find you a GF. lmao

Users helped track him down, and she and Codey Gonzalez quickly hit it off.

The pair went out for a date last Wednesday, and things went well enough that they immediately made plans for a second. Whataburger chimed in and offered to host their first — since that's how all Texas love stories begin, right?

But now Raising Cane's also wants to host the potential couple, noting that Gonzalez's Twitter profile picture shows him inside the chicken restaurant.

The college kids responded to both of the chains, but have yet to say where they'll go to for their second date.

Because much of San Antonio Twitter is totally invested in this story, KENS 5 will reveal an update tonight on the pair to see if they'll continue going out. The news station will let San Antonians know at 7 p.m. on its Facebook account.
