Filth, flair, and a frenzy of over-the-top events will be featured at Filthy F#@*IN’ Fest!, a fundraiser which benefits the performance As Filthy As It Gets (a winner of The Current’s Best of 2007 Critics’ and Readers’ picks) and Jump-Start Performance Co.

Activities include whipped-cream wrestling, live music by The Methane Sisters and Heather Leather, a deejay set by Giancarlo of the Electro Chemists, a silent auction featuring works by local artists, and As Filthy As It Gets – inspired merchandise. Funds raised will support one last run in January 2008. The raunchy and raw musical is part of Jump-Start Performance Co.’s Electric Performance Lab. The production was written and performed by Monessa Esquivel and Annele Spector, and follows the Methane Sisters attempt to regain their punk-rock roots.

“We’re excited about the wrestling, of course,” says Spector. “We’ll have new material so people can get a little taste of the new songs.”

Filthy F#@*IN’ Fest takes place Saturday, September 29, at The Guess Building, 533 Roosevelt. Doors open at 9 p.m. and the show starts at 10 p.m. For more info, call (210) 227-5867 or visit
