While taking in some stellar artwork by the gang at Say Sí during Muertitos Fest, I was overjoyed by the great turnout. People supporting the arts in San Anto is essential, especially our youths’ art. Can you imagine what would have become of Picasso if as a child he didn’t have the tools needed to create Le picador? It would have been a travesty to the art world — so you see why I am such a big advocate of the arts at an early age.

Want to do your part? Check out Colores Para Los Niños held this Saturday at Rings of Fire tattoo shop (across from Joe’s Volcano). The purpose of the event is to draw attention to the importance of art at the early stages of childhood.

Admission is $6, $3 if you donate art supplies. A dollar from each ticket sale will benefit the school of your choice, so come out and support the kids! The event begins at 6 p.m. and lasts until 1 a.m.

Bring color to a young child’s life. I promise it’ll make you all warm and fuzzy inside.
