We’ve opted to forgo our First Friday preview to devote our pages to extensive coverage of the new McNay wing and some San Anto dance news (page 26). But that doesn’t mean we’ve forgotten about our favorite monthly art walk. In fact, we’re pretty excited about Veiled in Flesh, Julia Barbosa Landois’s newest work, opening at Cactus Bra Space at 6 p.m. Part exhibition, part performance, Landois will be on view in a plexiglass vitrine throughout opening night. Be sure to check the Curblog on Monday for footage of the exhibit.

While we’re on the topic of Curblog, have you checked out our Guide to Recognizing Street Art week-long series we did back in March? We drove around in our gas guzzler and spotted the most obvious street-art targets while educatin’ readers about the great graffiti gods. If you haven’t seen it, visit And, of course, send us your favorite piece of local street art. But if you’re more inclined admire the process, we advise you to visit and do a search for: animation painted on public walls. Enjoy!

P.S. Be sure to catch Goin’ Mobile at Blue Star Contemporary Art Center before the show closes on
June 8.
