Assuming you grabbed your Current fresh off the rack, you’ve got just over two days to turn in your application for the Fourth Annual Dignowity Hill Pushcart Derby. Requirements: a regulation cart, $30, mild disregard for physical injury. The flag drops at 5 p.m. July 26. for info.

(It’ll be too late to sign up at the Dignowity Rummage Sale this weekend — 9:30 a.m.-1 p.m. along Nolan, Pine, etc. — but proceeds benefit the historic Eastside neighborhood’s assocation.)

The application process for the next round of Artist Foundation grants opened this week. The three-year-old program makes $5,000 grants to individuals working in performing, literary, media, and visual arts for the completion of a new or ongoing project. Previous recipients include Anne Wallace, Jenny Brown, Joey Fauerso, and Barbara Ras. For 2008, the independent non-profit, which raises a significant portion of its proceeds at the annual Art Ball, will also be presenting the George Cortez Award for Classical Singing, the Robert L.B. Tobin Awards for Set and Costume Design, and the Tobin Grand Prize for Artistic Excellence. Deadline: September 15; apply online at
