Developing an eye for the lens by creating skateboarding videos in the mid-’90s, San Antonio photographer Erik Jon Gustafson shifted his focus to photography nearly a decade later and has since been creating visually-striking photographs – many of which document San Antonio street and nightlife.
Gustafson recently posted on his Facebook a batch of photographs taken last Saturday, featuring images of San Antonio locals partying on the strip, including shots of partiers getting into fights or being detained by police.
“I actually rarely go to the strip but I was at a wedding all day shooting photos and we [Rene Martinez and Anthony Gutierrez] wanted to continue the night so we all went out,” Gustafon told the Current.
The photographs were shot between Lonesome Rose, Amp Room and then El Ojo on Saturday, May 18. But actually, this is just a typical night on the St. Mary's Strip.
