The Big Hops family of craft beer bars is about to get bigger, with founder Rob Martindale awarding the first franchise location to Alamo City locals Brian Orosco and Chris Cooke, adding to the three current Big Hops locations. Orosco and Cooke have been active participants in the industry for several years.

“We chose to partner with Brian and Chris because they uphold similar values in their lives regarding our industry and our people,” says Martindale.

Orosco and Cooke approached Martindale about a franchise earlier this year.

“It’s something we’ve been considering doing for some time and we’re excited to be able to be more involved in the industry and community,” said Orosco. The pair recently signed the lease on their location, which will be located on San Antonio’s northwest side, and look to open within the next 90 days.

The location (7915 W. 1604 N., Suite 112) was chosen, says Orosco, because they felt that the northwest side of San Antonio is still vastly underserved with regards to craft beer.

Look for this Big Hops to have a plethora of beer taps, as well as a few for wine and cider. The location will share the now standard Big Hops décor, though the new franchise owners will certainly put their own local community feel to the place.
