Blue Bell Announces Return of Festive Mardi Gras King Cake Ice Cream

Tough luck if you made a New Year's resolution to cut back on ice cream, because Blue Bell just announced the return of a seasonal favorite.

The Texas-based ice cream brand is bringing back its Mardi Gras King Cake ice cream flavor this week, available by the half gallon. But, unlike in the past, the flavor will be available wherever Blue Bell products are sold.

“We have been making Mardi Gras King Cake since 2012, but the flavor has mostly been sold in areas known for the celebration, such as Louisiana and Alabama,” said Carl Breed, corporate sales manager for Blue Bell.

Breed said the brand decided to let all ice cream lovers in on the flavor after receiving requests from over the U.S.

If you've yet to try the festive flavor, here's a breakdown: cinnamon cake flavored ice cream is mixed with pastry pieces, a colorful cream cheese swirl and candy sprinkles. The product is a mixture of two previous flavors: Mardi Gras and King Cake.

If you're all about this flavor, you may want to grab a tub now. It's only available for a limited time.
