Another week, another fine, back-porch concert from Lowcountry. Hailing from Memphis, Brandon Taylor, in keeping with the little bar/venue’s typical aural aesthetics, makes electrified folk rock that pulls influences from across the folk/blues/Americana spectrum. A gifted singer-songwriter and guitar player, Taylor is also an excellent storyteller via song, as evidenced most prominently on his 2010 LP Radio Ghost, which you can take a listen to at brandontaylorradio.com. In true folk journeyman fashion, Taylor is stopping in town to play this and one other local show as a part of a smattering of performances throughout Texas, as he makes his way, state by state, across the South. This show is highly recommended for fans of dusty, old tunes that tell the old, worn-out stories of regular people living their old, worn-out lives as the world goes mad.
