Broaden Your Horizons And Visit A Mosque

  • Muslim Children Education and Civic Center

In the age of social media, people are bombarded with assumptions and stereotypes about race, religion and sex through a never-ending stream of tweets, blogs, news stories and Facebook posts.

But if people would just spend some time talking to their neighbors, those presumptions would shatter.

The Muslim Children Education and Civic Center will provide just such an opportunity March 21 when it hosts an open house exploring American identity.

The public is invited to tour the mosque and has the chance to observe sunset prayer. There will also be speakers, an information booth and a free Mediterranean dinner. The night closes with a question-and-answer session.

The Muslim Children Education and Civic Center is requesting participants register at or be emailing The event is free.
