Named after the crippling, across-the-industry malaise after SXSW, Burger Hangover Fest III just announced its final lineup for the March 22-23 bash at The Korova (107 E. Martin). On the list are Atlanta trio The Coathangers, sticky-sweet Chicago rockers The Lemons, The Rich Hands, The Bolos (both of SA) and the pre-eminent garage/kraut/psych outfit around, Thee Oh Sees. Already announced bands include JEFF The Brotherhood, Diarrhea Planet, Warm Soda, Gap Dream and Guantanamo Baywatch.
Named after the prolific Burger label, many of the bands aren't actually signed to the Fullerton, California imprint. But the label possesses an unconditional love for fuzzy rock 'n' roll, signing on for mini-fests throughout the U.S. Now in its third year, Burger Hangover Fest has found success in the hair of the dog approach, scooping up garage bands lingering in South Texas — dazed, confused and needing gas money — after the booze has run dry in Austin.
