Carlos Mencia

San Antonio loves stand-up comedian Carlos Mencia. If they didn’t, he wouldn’t perform here like he has done every year since 2010. These days, Mencia seems to be keeping busy, but flying under the radar for the most part. Like every other comedian on the planet, he has his own podcast, The Journey, but hasn’t recorded a new episode in five months. During his last one in May, he went existential and talked about God and spirituality and got annoyed when his wife called him in the middle of recording (he answered). Aside from his inconsistent podcast schedule, Mencia is active on social media where he posts videos plugging his upcoming shows (“Do not come if you’re easily offended,” he says) and teases some of his stand-up (in one video, he jokes about weather forecasters who stood out in the rain during Hurricane Florence). He also has a new series of YouTube videos called Taco Love in America where he absorbs tacos through his mouth hole during his travels across the country. He gets extra Latino points for drowning them in the hottest salsa he can find.
