"Dream Tomorrow Today"

The DoSeum, in its massive yet inviting, state-of-the-art facility, a veritable wonderland for kids and adults alike, is forward-thinking brilliance from the building design to the thoughtfully envisioned, carefully executed exhibits that encourage learning through play. While the focus of The DoSeum is, in general, all about the future — its stated vision includes a call to “develop innovative thinkers capable of meeting the challenges of the 21st century” — this weekend marks the opening of the museum’s most future-forward exhibition yet: “Dream Tomorrow Today,” which will run through January 2019. The DoSeum’s answer to the Tricentennial, this dynamic and multi-faceted exhibition encourages kids (even grown kids) to visualize their futures and the future of their city in a variety of forms. Throughout the exhibit, visitors are invited to design future cities, ponder and shape community values, role play for careers of the future, and more. While the components of this exhibit are too numerous to mention here in detail, a couple of the highlights are Sketchtown, wherein visitors will see their own sketches of the future brought to life in a large interactive city designed by TeamLab, and Future City Labs, which encourages visitors to see the ways in which community values shape community endeavors and priorities.
